Mrs. Willie Mae Wood, 89, of Sheffield, passed away Tuesday May 4, 2010. Visitation will be Friday May 7, 2010, from 6 - 8 at Elkins Funeral Home Florence. The service will be Saturday May 8, 2010, at 1 PM at First Church of the Nazarene of Sheffield. Mrs. Wood will be placed in the church at 12 P.M. Brother Chuck Seay and Brother Gene Reynolds will officiate. Interment will follow in Colbert Memorial gardens. She was preceded in death by her husband; Earl Austin Wood Sr. Survivors include her children: Son; Earl Austin Wood Jr. and wife Annie Mae of Sheffield, Daughters; Joan L. Brown and husband Jim of Portland, TN., Juanita L. Farris and husband Gary of Muscle Shoals. 6 Grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wood was a native of Tishomingo County, Mississippi and became a resident of Colbert County after moving here in 1942 from Alcorn County Mississippi. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene of Sheffield, and a homemaker. Pallbearers will include: Charles Enderle Jr., Brodie James Brown, Ross Farris, Rex Farris, Roger DeWilde and Beau DeWilde.
