Mrs. Wylodean May Blasingame, age 87, of Florence, died Saturday June 12, 2010.
The family will receive friends from 12 PM to 2 PM, Tuesday June 15, 2010 at Elkins Funeral Home Chapel in Florence. The funeral service will be Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Wayne Kilpatrick officiating. Interment will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, W.G. Blasingame; parents: Newt and Annie May; brothers: Roy and Howard May; sisters: Pearl Williams, Christine Honey, Annie Ruth Hale and Martha Lou May. She is a member of Central Heights Church of Christ.
She is survived by her son, Billy Blasingame (Judy); daughters: Martha Blasingame, Vergia Hayes (Tim), Sheila Hester (Keith); siblings: Virgie Thompson and Jasper May; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, and great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Mrs. Blasingame''s favorite charity, St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caregivers of Mid South Home Care Services, Dorthy Hill, Leanne Scott, and the staff and nurses of ECM Hospital, 6th West.
