Funeral for Zara Lee Gillespie, 85, of Hillsboro will be Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at 2 p.m. at First Apostolic Church, 1659 Co. Rd. 369, Trinity, with the Rev. Fred Shepard officiating and Elliott Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Morris Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the church. Mrs. Gillespie, who died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, at NHC Healthcare of Moulton, was born May 14, 1923, in Lawrence County to John Lee and Nellie Smith Lee. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Pruitt Gillespie; son-in-law, Larry Dutton; three brothers, Edd Lee, Avery Lee and J.T. Lee; and sister, Vera Schnader. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda and Wymon Dutton and Glenda Dutton ; five sons, Pruitt I. & Linda Gillespie, Franklin & Linda Gillespie and Danny Gillespie and his puppy, JoJo, Raburn & Charlotte Gillespie and Gordon & Donna Gillespie a , two sisters, June McLemore and Bettye Layne and her husband, Charles; 12 grandchildren, Frank Jr., Jodi, Chad, Rachel, Misty, Brandy, Kelly, Scarlett, Rusty, Cynthia, Shelly, and Matthew and 21 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Matthew Gillespie, Kenny Harris, Blake Harris, Devon Hampton, Carl Smith, Alan Hutto and Kenny Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
